Stanfield Nursing Home are proud to provide Worcestershire nursing care and specialist dementia support. We have over thirty years of experience in caring for individuals, and we pride ourselves on the compassion, dedication and love that we deliver to your loved ones. As a leading care home in Worcester, we certainly do not take for granted the beautiful setting in which we are located in – overlooking the Malverns and the countryside. Our residents are also encouraged to enjoy the views and settings of this tranquil location, and we like to make sure many of our activities incorporate this.
Worcestershire nursing care activities
At our Worcestershire nursing care home, we like to encourage our residents to engage in some of the many nursing home activities that we regularly put on for them. We know that many of our residents will have individual interests and hobbies which they took part in before they came to live with us, so we do our very best to make sure this continues at Stanfield. We also support residents in taking up new activities. Keeping engaged in activities is important for our residents as it helps to encourage cognitive function and keeps them connected and involved with others – this is important for their overall wellbeing. We have a range of specialised therapists and dementia care specialists who help us to put together a programme of activities that is tailored to our residents and their passions and interests. Some of the activities that take place at Stanfield Nursing Home include gardening, crafting, pamper days, film afternoons, karaoke and musical performances. Alongside these, we also make sure that we take part in seasonal and event based national celebrations too.
Halloween at Stanfield Nursing Home
Most recently, our residents have been getting into the spirit of Halloween with Spectrum Spiders. These spiders are part of the activities programme taking place at Stanfield, and are being made by our residents. The spiders are multi-coloured and feature googly eyes and colourful legs, and making them is not only fun and enjoyable for our residents, but beneficial for their wellbeing too. Making sensory items such as Spectrum Spiders has been proven to improve the cognitive function of the elderly and those with dementia. The activities with these spiders create a fun and enjoyable environment for our residents, ensuring they feel valued and involved and creating a wider sense of community within the home. The spider making activities have been enjoyed by everyone here at Stanfield, and we are continuing to see even more of them appearing around the home – just in time for Halloween!
