A message from Richard
As a few of you may be aware, for many years Richard White, care home director, worked as a counselling therapist. Our Worcester nursing home has received an offer of help and support from former colleagues of Richard for those who are not able to visit as they routinely would. As we care for very vulnerable people we recently took precautionary measures to close the nursing home to all routine visits due to coronavirus.
The following information may be helpful to you during this period when visiting Stanfield is not possible.
To all relatives and friends
We are all living through difficult and challenging times. Not being able to visit and spend time with your relatives and friends living at Stanfield can be particularly upsetting and painful. You will be assured to know that staff are taking good care of your loved ones during the fight against coronavirus. Our team continues to communicate with you as much as possible, however we acknowledge that the loss of personal contact with your loved ones cannot be underestimated.
We understand this period of separation is upsetting and stressful. We would like to offer you an opportunity to speak in confidence via FaceTime, Zoom, Whatsapp video or simply a phone conversation about your feelings, concerns or the stresses you may be experiencing at this time. Many relatives and friends across the globe have been using these services in isolation to stay in touch with loved ones and other friends.
Introducing our new team
We have three professionally trained and experienced counsellors, Carmel Callaghan, Jane Humphreys and Juliet Birley. They all work in accordance with The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Ethical Framework (https://www.bacp.co.uk/) and will be on-hand to help with our care during coronavirus. BACP helps the general public, individuals and commissioners and continues to raise the ethical and professional standards of the profession.
You can find further information on Carmel at http://www.worcestershirecounselling.co.uk/ and Juliet here https://julietbirleycounselling.co.uk/.
