Exciting things coming to Stanfield Nursing Home.
On the 16th we had an opening ceremony to unveil a new water feature in our Courtyard Garden, followed by refreshments. This fountain has upgraded the relaxing dynamic in our garden for residents to enjoy when taking a breath of fresh air.
Our aim is to provide a relaxed, friendly approach to our care in a comfortable and peaceful setting by continuing to improve our care home.
St. Patrick’s Day
This public holiday celebrates the cultural and religious background of Ireland when Saint Patrick introduced Christianity to its population. Such a popular holiday is recognised in multiple countries outside of Ireland, creating diverse ways of celebrating the day. It is traditionally celebrated by wearing green, with public parades and festivals. Here at Stanfield Nursing Home we enjoyed an Irish themed sing-song and a lovely meal of beef with a classic guiness glaze, a selection of veg and Irish apple tart to finish it off.
Mother’s Day
A special day for many residents in our nursing home. Mothering Sunday is all about showing appreciation for one’s mother with cards, flowers, gifts, but most importantly spending quality time with them. We invited residents’ families to Stanfield Nursing Home for a morning of activities, involving a lively sing a long and morning catch up followed by a hearty lunch of roast turkey and all the trimmings with a black forest gateaux for dessert. To make the day even more special, our team and staff arranged an afternoon tea with a classic array of sandwiches and homemade cakes for residents and their loved ones
Our dementia tree
Many of our residents are people experiencing dementia which means the type of care we provide requires us to ensure smooth operation when performing activities in the home. This is why we use a ‘dementia tree’ in our main lounge that is decorated according to the current festivities so that residents always know what time of year it is. For instance the tree is currently kitted out with Easter-related decor that our residents helped design and will be changed upon new celebrations in the coming months.
